Wayland High School STEM curriculum among the best in MA: US News

WAYLAND, MA – Wayland High School was rated the 11th best high school in Massachusetts in the US News & World Report 2024 rankings – but the school was actually ranked higher thanks to its focus on math and science.

In addition to being No. 11 — and No. 321 out of 25,000 U.S. high schools on the list — Wayland High School was also ranked the seventh best STEM high school in Massachusetts. WHS was ranked No. 49 nationally for schools specializing in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

U.S. News picks the top high schools based on students who score high in math, reading and science, as well as strong performance among underserved students. The magazine also counts graduation rates and willingness to study as part of the assessment. Wayland scored the best (No. 7 statewide) in the subcategory measuring student performance on MCAS tests.

US News ranked 405 high schools in Massachusetts. Wayland fell between Weston High School and Acton-Boxborough. The top 10 high schools in Massachusetts were:
