Matt 3: 1-7

As a 21 year old man, lost in a life of drugs, alcohol and headed nowhere I came to the understanding that my life was messed up by some decisions I had made growing up in a broken home to an alcoholic airmen and a workaholic mother. I really didn’t know who I was or what I was capable of and so when I had an opportunity in 1981 to go into Alberta Forestry Fire-towers as a Lookout Tower man I figured there was no better place to figure out who I was and where I went wrong!
After 5 seasons of 6 months each in isolation by myself I came to understand many of my problems and that without some knew input from somewhere I still had no answers. After a sever motorcycle accident in my first summer off towers in 1986 and 4 years of physio and disappointment, getting married and almost losing that, I finally found the answer in coming to meet Jesus my Lord and Saviour July 14/ 1990. I have spent the last 28 years allowing Him to bring me out of the wilderness of sin and put me on the road to the destiny He has for me.
Saying all this you have to realize that I have a different perspective on life then many others. I have spent approx. 900 days in isolation so these thoughts from the wilderness I hope can bring perhaps some insights to many who are still out there.
Having now been involved with prison ministry for over 17 years and seeing God use my testimony to speak to thousands of prisoners it is evident there are many lost in the wilderness. In the last year I have been able to go into EYOC (Edmonton Young Offenders Correction) and once I started telling stories to make biblical points, I have seen a huge growth in the number of those who want to accept Jesus, young lives already lost in the wilderness.

I have no other answer then that Jesus Christ is the only answer, but how to let Him guide you into fulfilling your destiny will need some help.
1Ti 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity
Paul says that we are an example of what Jesus can do. I am far from perfect, but many of my life lessons and Jesus teaching can perhaps help you to find your way out of your wilderness and into the purpose God has had for you since before the foundation of the world. I hope you can join us ( Jesus and I) on this journey and find your true purpose in Him. Because everything before Jesus is just a struggle in the wilderness.
