Vikings fall to Hornets in regular season finale

SACRAMENTO, CA – The Portland State women’s tennis team’s season ended Saturday afternoon, losing 7-0 to Sacramento State in the regular season finale at the Sac State Tennis Courts.

The Hornets moved to 17-7 overall, while the Vikings fell to 6-10. With the loss, the Vikings finished seventh in the final standings, narrowly missing out on the Big Sky Tournament.

Capu Sanoner And Scarlett Perkins defeated Weronika Ejsmont and Best Lee 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, but the Hornets secured the point with wins on lines two and three.

The Hornets went on to take the win with six straight singles victories.

The Vikings finished the year 6-10 as Saturday marked the final collegiate games Maddie Egan, Momoko Yoshimura, Capu Sanoner And Makoto Oharas collegiate careers.
