Bears sweep doubleheader at MIT

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.

In game one, the Bears trailed by one point going into the 7th. Charlie Red singled and scored Parker Madden to level the game. One batter later, Johannes Caroll hit a sacrifice fly to give CGA the lead.

Harrison Milbert earned the win in a complete game, 12 strikeouts.

The Bears spread out their offense, with each of their seven hits coming from different hitters.

Game two was a snail-fest for the Bears. Leading the way was Nate Stafford, who reached base in all seven at bats. The freshman first basemen went 6/6 with a walk in the win. Senior Johannes Caroll went 4/7 with four RBI.

Freshman Ryan Karman earned the victory with 4.2 innings of work in relief. The game was started by fellow freshmen Vito Giordanowho pitched seven innings, allowing just two runs and striking out eleven.

The Bears face NEWMAC foe Springfield College at home on Tuesday, April 23, with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
