Pedestrian in ‘extremely critical condition’ after being struck on the city’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS – A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist on the city’s west side Saturday evening.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 8600 block of West Morris Street for reports of a person being assaulted at 9 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was injured. He was transported to a local hospital in “extremely critical condition.”

IMPD believes the man was walking along the street when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
