WLAX falls to RWU – University of Hartford Athletics

The University of Hartford women’s lacrosse team fell 21-6 on Saturday at Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium to Commonwealth Coast Conference regular-season champion Roger Williams.

Junior Meghan Smith and freshmen Madison Olmstead scored two goals each with Olmstead and sophomore Sara Costa responsible for both Hartford assists.

Hartford trailed by one goal, 5–4, after the first period, but was held scoreless in the second and third periods before scoring the final two goals of the game.

To graduate Hannah Ramsey finished with nine saves for Hartford.

  • Before the game, the women’s lacrosse program honored the contributions of seniors Brianna Benjamin And Lenaija Ferguson.
  • For the first time this season in CCC action, Roger Williams trailed when Olmstead scored just over two minutes into the game.
  • The four first period goals were the most scored in the opening period against RWU in CCC action.
  • Hartford must beat Curry Tuesday to qualify for the ECAC tournament.
